The Sun Laboratory

Established in 2005, and sponsored by TEQUIP the SUN laboratory is one of the largest and costliest  laboratory of the department of Computer Science and Engineering. It is situated at the basement of  the department and it consists of forty thin clients of SUN RAY connected through LAN and operated  by original SUNFIRE V250 Server. It has two SUNBLADE 1500 Workstations and the whole of  laboratory runs on SUN SOLARIS 9 Operating system. C, C++, UNIX and Java classes are held in this  laboratory.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                 The Multimedia Laboratory

Situated on the third floor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, this laboratory is the most advanced laboratory in the whole of the Department. Funded by TEQUIP, and established in 2005, this laboratory is meant for M.Tech and B.Tech third year classes. It consists of roughly 30 IBM PCs with 15” TFT LCD monitors, configured by P4 processors, 1 GB RAM and DVD Writers. All the PCs are connected through LAN with IBM and SUN MICROSYSTEM servers and are also connected with Internet through 2Mbps Leased Line.

The DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING Laboratory (Wireless Networking, Intranet, Internet)

Established in 2005 and sponsored by DST – FIST, the Distributed Computing  laboratory, is another important laboratory of the department of Computer Science &  Engineering. It is situated in the SINP Hostel building in RSC campus. It consists of  roughly 30 hp PCs with 15” TFT LCD monitors, each of 512 MB RAM connected  through LAN with hp and SUN MICROSYSTEM servers. All these PCs are also  connected with Internet through 2Mbps Leased Line. This laboratory is actually  meant for students of M.Tech and M.Sc.

                                                                                                                                            The HARDWARE (Digital+Basic Electronics) Laboratory

This is a departmental sponsored laboratory situated in the SINP Hostel building of RSC campus. It is a well – equipped digital laboratory where most of the digital practical as well as Basic Electronics practical are held. It consists of ample number of cathode ray oscilloscopes, a number of regulated and unregulated power supplies.

Hardware Simulation & AutoCAD Laboratory (Computer Facility Laboratory)

Funded by TEQUIP, the AutoCAD laboratory is situated at the ground floor of the FACILITY building (N.R. Sen Building). It consists of 25 IBM PCs connected through LAN by IBM server. All the PCs are configured by P4 HT processors with 512 MB RAM working on WINDOWS XP operating system. Digital and electronic circuits are simulated here with simulation software and AutoCAD classes are held for B.Tech students.

                                                                                                                                               Language Laboratory (Computer Facility Laboratory)

Another TEQUIP funded laboratory is the Language Laboratory. It is situated on the     top floor of the FACILITY building. This laboratory consists of 25 PCs configured by     P4 HT processors with 256 MB RAM, some working on WINDOWS 2000 operating           system and some on WINDOWS XP. Newly introduced machine contains HCL P4 HT       computers with LCD monitors, 1 GB RAM.

The ADVANCED DBMS Laboratory

This laboratory is also situated on the third floor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, adjacent to the Multimedia Laboratory and is also one of the best equipped, excellently designed laboratory. There is also a special Server room in this laboratory in which there are three servers of the SUN Microsystems and three IBM servers. This Laboratory has also a workstation of the SUN MICROSYSTEM.

                                                                                                                                                                                     The INTERNET FACILITY Laboratory

Situated in the ground floor, the INTERNET FACILITY laboratory is also one of the    vital laboratories of the department of Computer Science and Engineering. It        consists of 10 PCs connected with Internet through 2Mbps Leased Line. This  laboratory is for easy access of the Internet for the students.

The NETWORKING Laboratory

Sponsored by the department of Computer Science & Engineering, the NETWORKING laboratory, is another important laboratory. It is situated in the SINP Hostel building in RSC campus. It consists of roughly 20 IBM PCs, configured by P4 HT processors with 128 MB RAM working on WINDOWS XP operating system and connected through LAN. This laboratory is actually meant for students of M.Sc.
